Sycamore Kitchen Egg and Chorizo Sandwich

Breakfast Sandwich Los Angeles

The Sycamore Kitchen, the fast casual concept from Hatfield’s chef-owners Karen Hatfield and husband Quinn, has captured the imagination of Mid-City Los Angles denizens thanks to industrial chic design and refined, California-inflected takes on comfort foods. For breakfast, which is available until 11:30 a.m., their most compelling handheld option is the Scrambled Egg and Chorizo Sandwich ($10). Griddled house-baked slabs of pan de mie soak up spiced juices from crumbled chorizo and also cradle stretchy melted Swiss cheese, a layer of soft scrambled eggs and gain a hint of sweetness from caramelized roasted onions. With this sandwich, the Hatfields have achieved breakfast balance.

Dose of Vitamin P spotlights my favorite pork dish from the previous week.
