The Marina del Rey branch of Mendocino Farms will open to the public on April 29. However, Mario Del Pero and chef-partner Judy Han are hosting a private pre-opening party on the night of April 27, and 30 Food GPS readers are invited. The party includes complimentary sandwiches and Boylan fountain soda for each guest. 15 pairs of passes are up for grabs. To become eligible, just comment below and on two other Food GPS posts. Mendocino Farms’ spring menu features seasonal sandwiches like the Braised Lamb Sandwich with mint pesto, Cypress Grove goat cheese spread, pickled red onions and arugula on toasted ciabatta; The Pork Loin Sandwich with apple chutney, spicy brown mustard, roasted potatoes and baby spinach on a Dolce Forno pretzel roll; and A French Onion Soup Melt with smoked gouda & cave-aged Gruyere fondue, caramelized onions, panini pressed on a pretzel roll.
