Intelligentsia Coffee Angeleno

Coffee Los Angeles

When Intelligentsia Coffee opened the doors to their now-iconic Sunset Junction coffee bar, the Chicago-based company honored their adopted city with a signature coffee cocktail that still holds up six years later. The beverage combines four shots of Black Cat espresso, rich Straus Family Creamery milk, and a judicious amount of agave sweetener, all shaken with ice until frothy. Intelligentsia helped to teach me that specialty coffee can deliver great flavor and nuance without the crutches of sugar and milk, but sometimes, it’s still great to dive into a 16-ounce cup of moderated indulgence. Red Bull might give you wings, but just look at the logo to know that Intelligentsia does to, and unlike the artificial “energy drink,” the more natural Angeleno doesn’t come with a crash landing.
