Staying Active, Then And Now, With Los Angeles Chefs (Part 2)

Chef Los Angeles

Basketball has been one constant for BLD chef Diana Stavaridis.

I previously learned how seven different L.A. chefs keep fit. On June 10, at Taste of the Nation Los Angeles, I asked participating chefs, Did you play any sports in high school? And, How do you stay active these days? Read their responses.

Perfecto Rocher (Lazy Ox Canteen)

[In High School + These Days] I used to play soccer, basketball, everything. I used to play a lot, and now I don’t do anything. I don’t have time. Pelota Valenciana, I used to play a lot, it’s like handball, Valencia’s most important sport.

Joshua Smith <(Blue Cow Kitchen)

[In high school] Baseball, swimming, volleyball.

[These Days] Walking to work. I live at 6th & Spring and a few miles away, so I just walk to work every day. That’s the only way.

Diana Stavaridis (BLD)

[In High School] Softball, soccer, basketball.

[These Days] Work, surfing, basketball, sleeping.
