1. Café Gratitude

Cafe Gratitude founders Matthew and Terces Engelhart enabled their family to expand to L.A. in 2011. Step-brothers Ryland Engelhart and Cary Mosier now have fashionable plant-focused locations in Larchmont, Venice and the DTLA Arts District that all look like design blog sets come to life. Golden ($5) is a nutty turmeric latte with a swirl of turmeric juice and almond milk, with mild honey sweetness.

2. G&B Coffee

At this cutting-edge Grand Central Market coffee bar from Kyle Glanville and Charles Babinski, Turmeric Almond Macadamia Tea ($4.50) defies easy categorization but is dangerously easy to drink. What could easily become G&B’s latest signature drink incorporates fresh turmeric, fresh ginger and local honey. This bright yellow juice is a great match for steamed almond macadamia nut milk, which is lightly sweetened with dates and steamed. Bonus: Babinski matched the aromatic swirl of turmeric nut milk with a dusting of spicy black pepper.

3. Moon Juice

Amanda Chantal Bacon’s organic juice and elixir concept started in Venice and now has branches in Silver Lake and the Ace hotel theater lobby. Three of her drinks feature turmeric, including spicy Turmeric’s Cup ($6) with fresh turmeric, ginger, cayenne and honey that’s mixed with equal parts alkaline water; California Sun ($10) juice sweetened with red apple; and Golden Milk ($12) with almond milk, cinnamon, cardamom and wildflower honey.
