Tierra Mia Coffee Rice & Beans Frappe

Coffee Los Angeles

Tierra Mia Coffee's deluxe horchata touts a towering whipped cream and cinnamon cap.

Tierra Mia Coffee is a Latin-tinged, WiFi-averse coffee chain. Founder Ulysses Romero is slowly populating California with cafes and takes a hands-on approach. The company roasts coffee that Romero sources and bakes pastries in-town. I wouldn’t be surprised to hear if the company starts growing and processing coffee themselves in the coming years. In the meantime, we can enjoy their dulce de leche muffins and signature frappes.

These ice-blended drinks are all impressive, whether infused with coconut (Coco Loco), mocha Mexicano, or Rice & Beans. The latter is my favorite offering, featuring a coffee base, distinct sweetened rice milk (horchata) flavor, and ground espresso beans. Tierra Mia baristas garnish each drink’s cap with whipped cream and a cinnamon dusting.
