Terrace Pork Belly Banh Mi

Banh Mi Los Angeles

The Terrace is the most casual restaurant at The Langham Huntington Pasadena, a historic property that dates to 1907. The California bistro has a shaded patio overlooking the pool and serves refined food. Chef de cuisine Jason Yu, previously with Ysabel and Laurel Hardware, started at The Terrace on July 21, 2015, became chef de cuisine on Thanksgiving, and revised the menu in June. He described his dineL.A. Restaurant Week menu as “Hawaiian-Filipino-American fusion.” I particularly enjoyed his pork belly banh mi panini.

Crisp, toasted focaccia bread hosted sticky slabs of pork belly with melting fat rims, shaved cucumber, crunchy carrots, and cilantro cream sauce. My plate came with a side of sweet potato chips that did a good job of scooping up dripping pork juices and sauce.

Dose of Vitamin P spotlights my favorite pork dish from the previous week.
