I’ve visited my extended family in Miami since I was a little kid, long before coffee was even a consideration. By the time specialty coffee started booming in cities like Chicago, Los Angeles, and Portland, Miami’s caffeinated options lagged behind, though it’s important to credit Cuban immigrants for their potent contributions to the local coffee culture. Other Latino countries have of course made major impacts as well. After all, where do you think a large percentage of the coffee beans (and know-how) originate? The Miami coffee scene has improved considerably in the past decade. Panther Coffee (2010) became the first third-wave, specialty coffee player to roast and open cafes. They were one of the first businesses to make Wynwood a culinary destination, which caught my attention. Vice City Bean (2015) and Imperial Moto (2016) followed Panther’s lead, along with roasters like Raccoon Coffee (2019) and Cortadito Coffee House (2020). I’ve enjoyed them all over the years. Learn about my favorite Miami coffee stops in 2024 and 2026, listed in alphabetical order.
