Congregation Ale House

Here is the latest from the Congregation chapters in Azusa & Pasadena, Pasadena is featuring Hangar 24 Helles, Beer Valley Judas Yeast, Buckbean Very Noddy and Marston’s Pedigree and in Azusa Victory Storm King stout, Eagle Rock Solidarity, Cismontane’s Cyclone Yasi and El Segundo’s Hyperion Stout.

Eagle Rock Brewery

On tap beer wise: Solidarity in regular and nitro versions, Manifesto wit, Revolution XPA, Populist IPA, Libertine, Deuce and Honey Badger a Belgo version of Populist. On the Food truck front, Friday is the Tabom Truck Saturday brings the Grill ‘em All truck and there will be Sunday brunch with the Flatiron Truck.

Enegren Brewing

You can find the following on beers on tap in Moorpark: Valkyrie – California Alt 6.2% , Protector – Imperial IPA 7.5%, Deviation – Imperial Oatmeal Stout 7.3% and Vanilla Oaked Valkyrie – California Alt with vanilla bean and oak chips: 6.2%ABV. Haven Gatropub + Brewery

Golden Road Brewing

Every Thursday at 4pm, The Pub at Golden Road will be tapping a small cask of limited edition specialty cask-conditioned beer. Quantity is very limited, so this week’s beer will only be available for the next few weeks on THURSDAY evenings ’til the cask runs dry.

The LAB

“Dr Hops Lab brews currently on tap: Take Her Home Belgian Tripel, Bad Influence IPA, Wit, Big Ass Red, XPA, Cold Fusion Java Porter and the After Midnight Moo Milk Stout. Coming in a few weeks, just in time for Spring, is a light and crisp blonde ale brewed with local organic honey. Follow us on Facebook for a chance to name this beer and win a growler.

Ladyface Alehouse

From Robyn Britton at Ladyface: “This week’s cask, “Leap of Faith ”, features our Anniversary Ale with Amarillo hops. From our barrel program & now on tap is Chardonnay Oud Blonde! Our La Blonde was aged in a Justin Chardonnay American Oak barrel with Roesalere yeast, a blend of regular ale yeast & brettanomyces. It has wine characteristics & that great hint of farmyard funk. This is the last keg, so enjoy it while you can. Joining the Ladyface ales on tap are Great Divide Nomad Pilsner, Ballast Point Calico, and Sierra Nevada Northern Hemisphere.”

Lucky Baldwin’s

Pasadena‘s Lucky Baldwins will host a Thomas Hardy’s Ale Vertical Tasting on Wednesday, March 7 starting at 7 PM. Six different years (1999, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2008) of the beer will be available from the bottle during the tasting.

The latest update from assistant manager Josh Salinas: “This weekend we are pouring Speakeasy Ale’s Big Daddy IPA, Great Divide Hoss Rye Lager, Craftsman Poppyfields Pale Ale, Eagle Rock Solidarity, Ommegang Hennepin, and Surf Brewery Surfers Point Vienna Lager. On deck we have Lips of Faith Biere De Mars and Hangar 24 Orange Wheat.”

Stuffed Sandwich

For the month of March, Marlene Samaniego and husband Sam will be presenting Belgian Tripels and Belgian Style Triples. “Although it is not a Belgian style Triple we have added a very special Triple IPA to this month’s line-up (until the keg runs dry). Please see the last beer listed on the line-up to see what it is!!!

But first a few announcements. There is a new brewery (two years old) that has made its way to Southern California. We had the privilege of having David and Michael from Epic Brewing Company (Salt Lake City, Utah) visit our shop last Wed. night. They produce over 30 different beers and they brought 14 different ones for us and all our friends to taste. We have chosen to bring in six of their beers (bottle) to start with including a Belgian Style Golden Ale and an Espresso Coffee Imperial Stout.

Here’s this month’s line-up: Brouwerij St. Bernardus Tripel, Brouwerij West Tripel, Mission Brewery Mission Tripel from 2010, Brouwerij Deca Services Westoek X Tripel, Allagash Brewing Tripel, Maredsous 10 Tripel, Scaldis Tripel Blond, Het Anker Gouden Carolus Tripel and Russian River Pliny the Younger.”

Vendome Toluca Lake’s weekly Beer Tasting is from 2-5 pm on Saturday and 12-3 pm Sunday. Each week has a theme and this week it is “Oaked Delights.” The beer list Olde Suffolk English Ale, (a blend of two ales, with the oldest component aged in oak vats for a minimum of 2 years), Jolly Pumpkin Luciernaga (a Belgian pale ale brewed with coriander and grains of paradise), Jolly Pumpkin Maracaibo Especial (a brown ale brewed with cacao and spiced with cinnamon and sweet orange peel), Anchorage The Tide and Its Takers (a triple fermented Belgian style tripel, aged in French Oak Chardonnay barrels, and brewed in collaboration with Dogfish Head. Oh yeah, its got brett too…), Nebraska Melange a Trois (a Belgian strong golden ale matured in French Oak Chardonnay barrels), Aecht Schlenkerla Eiche (a surprisingly drinkable oaked and smoked doppelbock), Black Diamond Bourbon Barrel Aged Grand Cru (one of the few abbey dubbel style ales aged in bourbon), High Water Aphotic (barrel aged Baltic porter), Epic Brewing Smoked & Oaked (a richly peat flavored Belgian strong ale brewed with smoked cherry wood malt), Struise Pannepot Reserva (one of the best French oak aged Belgian strong ales you can buy…), Haandbryggeriet Akevitt Porter (a unique twist on the imperial porter style), High Water Old & In The Way (an English style barrel aged barleywine brewed at Drakes Brewing Company), Uinta Cockeyed Cooper (a satisfyingly rich, bourbon barleywine) and Karl Strauss 23rd Anniversary Old Ale (an unblended old ale, aged in American oak barrels for 12 months, weighing in at 12.2% abv).

City Tavern

From Matt at City Tavern: “This weekend City Tavern will be running a whiskey flight that is paired with a beer flight. Four half ounce tasters of whiskey paired with a six ounce beer taster. Each whiskey will be highlighted by the beers that they are paired with!

Currently On Draft: Craftsman El Prieto ale, Lost Abbey Deliverance, Mad River Serious Madness, Stone Brewing 2010 imperial Russian stout (IRS) , Stone Brewing 15th anniversary Escondidian black IPA, Ballast Point Even Keel pale ale.

City Tavern just got back from San Francisco and picked up some amazing limited releases from San Francisco Beer Week. Look for these fantastic beers coming up at City Tavern Devils Canyon Biere Brut, Magnolia’s Sara’s Ruby Mild, Triple Voodoo Grand, Cru, Two Rivers Blood Orange Cider, 21st amendment Bitter American, Dust Bowl Hops of Wrath.”
