When the temperature rises into the triple digits in Los Angeles, Imperial Stout is the last thing that Brew & You columnist Sean Inman likes to drink. According to yesterday’s update from chef-owner Tony Alcazar, “This week we are pouring Aventinus, Humulus Lager, Mikkeller I Beat U, Eagle Rock Manifesto, Oro de Calabaza, and Mad River XPA. Also, we will be pairing some very Belgian style food with some great Belgian Beers for Belgium’s Independence Day next Wednesday the 21st.”

BONEYARD BISTRO

According to bar manager Rory Snipes, “New on tap this week we have Saison Dupont, Uncommon Brewers Siamese Twin, and Schneider Edel-Weise. We also have 4 beer flights that rotate weekly and one every Thursday which includes beer from bottles, so we can all taste some new stuff. Cheers.”

COVELL

According to Matthew Kaner, Covell’s Wine Director and Manager, the Los Feliz bar just sold out of Bootlegger’s Knuckle Sandwich Double IPA and The Bruery’s Seven Grain Saison. Instead, they’re now running Schneider Edel Weisse, Weihenstephaner and St. Bernardus Abt. 12. Houblon Chouffe goes live tomorrow. Anderson Valley Oatmeal Stout and Bear Republic Racer 5 IPA are on deck.

THE DAILY PINT

Phil McGovern’s Santa Monica bar currently features Goose Island Matilda IPA, Sierra Nevada Summerfest, Sierra Nevada 30th Anniversary stout, Oskar Blues Gubna, Port 4th Anniversary Imperial IPA, Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA, San Martin Abbey Ale, and on cask, Stone Pale Ale with coriander and Stone Sublimely Self-Righteous with Simcoe and Summit hops.

On July 16 from 7 PM – 2 AM, The Daily Pint is hosting Ballast Point Night, featuring Calico Amber Ale, Fathom IPL, Piper Down Scottish Ale, Ginger Big Eye IPA, Yellowtail Pale Ale and Sculpin IPA on tap, and on cask, Sculpin IPA and Brother Levonian Saison.

According to Ladyface rep Robyn Britton, “Triple-digit heat has hit the Southland. Appropriately, the Ladyface Cask of the Week is another tripel – “Tripel au fût” – our Trois Filles aged for a month in oak. This week we’ll also have Lagunitas’ “lucky 13” and we were able to score one more barrel of “undercover investigation shut-down” ale as well. We’ve got the St Bernardus Abt 12 back up and running after a 3 month hiatus and a great white ale from Craftsman called “Biere de Blanco.”

The Surly Goat currently features beers draught beers like Stone 14th Anniversary Emperial IPA, Alesmith YuleSmith, Russian River Damnation, Firestone Walker Velvet Merkin, Okocim Pils, Dogfish Head Sah’tea, Avery White Rascal and Telegraph Reserve Wheat.
