Restaurant Construction Los Angeles

Farmers market favorite Kettlestones is planting roots in Monrovia.

Anush and Van Vartanian are on the verge of beginning construction on Kettlestones Mediterranean Café in Old Town Monrovia.

On September 9, Van Vartanian said construction will take three months and will begin pending approval. Until then, the Canoga Park-based couple currently hosts a booth at Monrovia’s Friday Family Festival and appears at other L.A. farmers’ markets. I’ve seen a Kettlestones booth at the Atwater Village Farmers Market on Sundays.

Products include eggplant caviar, feta “cherry bombs,” feta basil spread and Armenian goat feta. The Vartanians also roast coffee and make 25 hummus varieties. Think artichoke, basil & mint, dill & walnut, kalamata & rosemary and spicy habanero.

It’s unclear at this point what products will transition from the market to the café.

Man I love their food. I think I have bought one of everything they make over the past year. You can’t go wrong with fresh pita and tzatziki. Get some lamb or chiken and some uzo.

I love the Kettlestones booth at the farmers market on Friday nights in Monrovia. Their products are so fresh and you can tell. I love how they always make new flavors and are very generous with their sampling. I just can’t wait til their cafe opens so I don’t have to wait until Friday to get more stuff.

everything sounds very inviting and testy:)
