On November 28, Drink Eat Travel co-founder Stan Lee drove north to report on Kern River Brewing Co. Brewpub – Drinking In Nature Made Easy, catching up with brewmaster Kyle Smith while drinking beers like the Citra Double IPA.

On December 1, e*starLA founder Esther Tseng shares her impressions of Kaohsiung, Taiwan: Traditional Taiwanese Eats, describing pyramid-shaped Taiwanese tamales, milkfish paste gravy soup and “rice bowled cake with sauce.”

LA Times

On December 1, LA Times Food editor Russ Parsons shared his ideas for his Affordable gifts for the kitchen, including items that are seemingly simple as a “heat-proof spatula” and “melon baller.”

LA Weekly

On December 3, Squid Ink contributor Noah Galuten shared the results of his Korean Spaghetti Bolognese Fight, where he pitted Ma Dang Gook Soo against Mr. Pizza. Fortunately (or unfortunately, whatever the case), I was along for the two-stop crawl.

On December 1, Squid Ink editor Amy Scattergood includes some cutting commentary in a post titled, Joe Pytka’s Revolving Doors: Bastide Confirms Chef Mahon Is Out.

Street Gourmet LA

On November 29, Street Gourmet LA founder Bill Esparza took a departure from the Latin world to write about Corkbar: A California Wine Getaway in the Heart of Downtown LA.
