Tyler King has grown Coffee Commissary from a single West Hollywood location to six L.A. branches that span three area codes. Glendale’s Kenneth Village outpost is the largest to date, spanning 3500-square-feet, including wraparound sidewalk tables, exposed white wood rafters, a grey and pink color scheme, and an on-site kitchen and bakery.
Coffee Commissary rotates between premium beans from companies like Portland’s Coava Coffee Roasters, Vancouver’s 49th Parallel Coffee and local Take Flight Coffee. I drank an espresso ($3.50) that delivered the requisite crema, balanced flavor and flair befitting a specialty coffee bar.
