Arts District Brewing recently debuted in Crazy Gideon’s former downtown home. The space is like a playground for adults, with skee-ball, ping-pong and darts. A patio hosts jumbo Jenga and cornhole. The brewhouse seamlessly melds with the modern design, which includes a Fritzi branch. Brewmaster Devon Randall previously brewed for Pizza Port Solana Beach. Her roster debuted with nine beers. They also have four-beer flights starting at $10. I limited myself to one pour: Busy Bee Honey Golden Ale.
The refreshing 5.4% ABV craft beer tasted crisp and lightly sweet thanks to the addition of honey, tangelo and citrus zest. I could easily see spending a summer afternoon on the Arts District Brewing patio. I suggest pairing a glass of Busy Bee Honey Golden Ale and a forbidden rice & quinoa salad from Fritzi.
