Arts District Brewing debuted to start December in the former downtown home of Crazy Gideon’s. The space is like a playground for adults, with skee-ball, ping-pong and darts indoors, and a patio with jumbo Jenga and cornhole. The brewhouse seamlessly melds with the modern design, which includes a branch of Fritzi. Brewmaster Devon Randall, who previously brewed for Pizza Port Solana Beach, debuted with nine beers. They also have four-beer flights starting at $10, but I limited myself to one pour: Busy Bee Honey Golden Ale.

The refreshing 5.4% ABV beer tasted crisp and lightly sweet thanks to the addition of honey, tangelo and citrus zest. I could easily see spending a summer afternoon on the patio with a glass of Busy Bee Honey Golden Ale and a forbidden rice & quinoa salad from Fritzi.
