Mere hours separate us from the 2016 edition of L.A. Beer Week, which runs June 18-26. Here are 10 events [Yes, a Top 10. How very 2015 of me] that I think will blow you away.

1.Sunday, June 19 – Cellarmaker Brewing @ The Hermosillo
This Bay Area brewery makes a return visit to the home of Highland Park Brewery to showcase some of their beers as well as their 2nd collaborative ale effort.

1b.Sunday, June 19 – Farmhouse Brewsters @ Ladyface Ale Companie
Highly regarded Sante Adairius brings their farmhouse ales to Agoura Hills in this ticketed event with local favorite Ladyface Ale Companie.

2. Monday, June 20 – Pink Boots Society takes over Three Weavers
Another ticketed event, as the Pink Boots Society is put in charge of the Ingelwood brewery. Over 15 breweries will be pouring and the proceeds go to Pink Boots to help further their mission of advancing women in the noble field of brewing.

3.Wednesday, June 22 – Beer Belly Goes to Oregon
Cascade will probably hold the most attention, but this is your chance to try GABF winner Breakside, plus Crux Fermentation and very rare in L.A. Buoy Beer.

3b.Wednesday, June 22 – Playing Favorites @ Library Alehouse
Library Alehouse is your Westside destination as they host Smog City AND Beachwood AND have all of the 2016 Sierra Nevada Beer Camp beers too!

4.Thursday, June 23 – DTLA United Crawl
Hop on and Hop off and visit all of the breweries in DTLA in one night. Crawl from Angel City/Arts District/Boomtown/Mumford/Iron Triangle) with Dry River Brewing & Indie Brewing also represented.

4b.Thursday, June 23 – So You Wanna Open A Brewery in L.A. @ Rock & Brews
Tomm Carroll once again gathers the next gen of L.A. brewers to talk about their roads to brewing in Los Angeles at Rock & Brews in El Segundo.

5.Friday, June 24 – Toolbox Brewing @ Sunset Beer Co.
San Diego breweries get love up north too. Sunset Beer Co. has an impressive week of tap takeovers planned, but a Summer Shandy would be refreshing after a hard week.

6.Saturday, June 25 – Straight Outta LA @ Craft Beer Cellar-Eagle Rock
Didn’t make it to the kickoff festival? This is your chance to try a wide swatch of L.A. craft beer in one setting. Plus you can buy a bottle of Unity 2016 IPA from Three Weavers on the way out.

7.Sunday, June 26 – Torrance Block Party @ Glendale Tap
The South Bay travels up to the Valley to show off their wares at the iconic Glendale craft beer bar. Monkish Brewing, Smog City and Phantom Carriage will be in the house.

Your Beer of the Week is a pilsner. Doesn’t happen often in this IPA-fueled craft beer world. Head down to Brouwerij West in San Pedro to sample Popfuji on June 19th. The tasting notes from the brewery state that, “Popfuji is brewed with Bohemian floor-malted barley and German noble hops, and is lagered and krausened. Dry, malty and lightly hopped.”

This week your Homework is to stay hydrated. For those planning on making the most of L.A. Beer Week, you will be drinking more tasty beer than usual which means you will need to ratchet up your H20 intake as well. Make a point of asking for or finding the water well at each of your celebratory stops.
