Wanderlust Creamery Avocado Toastada

Ice Cream Los Angeles

Avocado toast has become a played out parody of L.A. cuisine. Most versions can be made simply at home for a fraction of the cost, assuming brave culinarians can avoid the perils of avocado hand. Keep in mind that none of this criticism applies to Wanderlust Creamery‘s truly unique take on avocado toast.

This L.A. ice cream concept from chef Adrienne Borlongan and partner JP Lopez proved to be a hit in Tarzana and Atwater Village and recently introduced a sleek Venice location. They build ice cream flavors around global travels. Wanderlust Creamery also offers sundaes, nitro floats, and recently introduced an impressive off-menu play on avocado toast.

Avocado Toastada ($7) centers a sizable scoop of creamy avocado ice cream on a griddled-to-order sweet corn waffle “tortilla.” Staffers dress each refreshing sundae with a shower of Maldon sea salt, a choice of lime olive oil or condensed milk, coconut meat shavings, sweet strawberries, and edible purple and orange pansies.
