Rustic Canyon Wine Bar and Seasonal Kitchen is running a summer special: Monday Burger Night. Every week, Chef Evan Funke prepares two specialty burgers. One recent offering incorporated Crescenza cheese and mushroom ragout. Funke has also topped burgers with heirloom tomato & burrata and braised short rib. Last night’s ‘Western Bacon Cheeseburger” featured pork belly confit instead of traditional bacon. If you’re not in the mood for a specialty burger, you’ll always be able to find their Niman Ranch Burger with Gruyere, onion fondue, bread and butter pickles and herb remoulade. The menu changes weekly.
Funke and co-owner Josh Loeb have also worked with “beer chick” Christina Perozzi to feature small-batch beers each week. Last night, Rustic Canyon had Hair of the Dog “Ruth” and Uncommon Brewers’ “Siamese Twin Ale.”

Gee, a burger and martini also sounds good, which might differentiate it from F/Office not far away. Any chance of a liquor license, not just beer & wine?
