Day of the Dead Los Angeles

Day of the Dead calls for colorful imagery and flavorful food.

Ortega 120, the Redondo Beach restaurant from Thomas Ortega and Demi Stevens, is celebrating Day of the Dead, known as Dia de los Muertos in Mexico. Their Mexican restaurant features a wall of dolls and art related to the holiday year-round, but through November 2, they’ll also offer “spirited cocktails,” traditional Dia de los Muertos dishes, and an art exhibit from Raul Amador.

Expect cocktails like the Chupa Verde, a mix of Partida Blanco, jalapeño jelly and lime juice served in a bucket; Calabaza Margarita, a fresh margarita made with Partida Añejo, orange juice and pumpkin butter served up in a martini glass and topped with whipped cream; and Margarita de Higo (fig) concocted of Don Eduardo Blanco, fig jam, agave nectar and orange juice.

There will also be traditional Dia de los Muertos foods like calabaza en tacha (candied pumpkin) and pan de muerto.

Address: 1814 Pacific Coast Highway, Redondo Beach, CA 90277
