Church Los Angeles

Last week, the Silver Lake Improvement Association met in the rec room at the Holy Virgin Mary Russian Orthodox Church. Local business owners and residents were focused on fallout from Sunset Junction, and the proceedings quickly heated up.

While the complaints reverberated, I couldn’t help notice the poster advertising “cuisine from many countries.” This Sunday, October 5, the church’s Oktoberfest celebration will also feature “games for the kids,” plus music from Limpopo and the Russian choir Credo. There will also be a lottery drawing, with a Grand Prize of 50% of proceeds from the festival. All proceeds support the Parish. The “International Festival” is free and begins at noon.
