Message From the Middle of L.A. Beer Week 7

Commemorative Glasses

Right outside the steps of the Natural History Museum, the cream of the L.A. craft beer crop set up shop for the Los Angeles Beer Week 2015 Kick-Off Festival, known on Twitter and Instagram as #LABW7.

Here are the beers to look for in the last few days of our special week (in list form since this is the Internet and with three words to describe each beer since brevity is the soul of wit):

Three Weavers Return of Sassy Rye IPA – Zippy, Spicy, Hoppy

Noble Ale Works – We Saved Latin – Old World, New World, Hoppy

Boomtown Brewery – Ingenue White Ale – New, Light, DTLA

Santa Monica Brew Works – Cucumber Kolsch – Refreshing, Salad, Quenching

Kinetic Brewing – 3rd Anniversary Wild Ale – Acidic, Cherry, Sip

Smog City Brewing – Unity 2015 – Regal, Sparkling, Celebratory

There are so many great events during L.A. Beer Week that last week, I could not include them all! Here are a few more to add to your calendar:

Tonight, June 25! – Head to Venice Ale House to taste beers from Santa Monica Brew Works or get some cocktails that mix Ladyface Ale Companie beers with Ballast Point Spirits.

Friday, June 26 – Far Bar hosts a Cask Away in Little Tokyo or head to Beachwood BBQ in Seal Beach to pair El Segundo Brewing Co. beers with their excellent BBQ.

Saturday, June 27 – 38 Degrees turns six and will have a killer tap line-up or you can do a Gold Line Metro Beer Crawl with stops at Melody Lounge, The Greyhound and Angel City Beer.

The Beer of the Week will be revealed at noon today, then again at noon tomorrow. Highland Park Brewery have been celebrating their one year anniversary with bottle releases all week. At noon check their Instagram and Facebook feeds for what beer will be coming out. Then that beer will be available for purchase in the back of the brewery at 5pm. The flash sale will end at 7pm or when bottles are gone.

Your Homework is to figure out what event you would like to see in 2016. It is easy to troll and not offer helpful suggestions but if you have a light bulb moment idea that is unlike any other event or builds on an existing one, then write it down and let your favorite publican or brewer know about it.
