Madcapra Orange Blossom Yogurt Drink

Yogurt Los Angeles

Madcapra complements their vivid Mediterranean food with a tangy orange blossom yogurt drink.

Grand Central Market continues to draw talented chefs. Sara Kramer and Sarah Hymanson are the latest duo to land at the base of Bunker Hill. They worked together at Glasserie in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, and recently relocated to L.A. to open <Madcapra. Kramer and Hymanson paired their falafel and vegetable shop with a stylish setting that includes a neon green sign, marble counter, and open kitchen. While Madcapra’s square falafel is clearly the star, the chefs also cut loose with creative, Middle Eastern inspired beverages.

Sumac Beet Soda is tangy and earthy, a subtly sweet triumph. I enjoyed Madcapra’s Orange Blossom Yogurt Drink ($5) even more. This cool, creamy beverage arrives on the rocks and combines yogurt, orange juice, orange blossom water, and sweetness from a syrup made with orange zest. The end result is kind of like an orange creamsicle and pairs beautifully with Madcapra’s personal take on Middle Eastern cuisine.
