Restaurant Los Angeles

Larkin's brought culinary life to a century-old Craftsman cottage.

Larkin Mackey and Joshua McBride debuted Larkin’s in Eagle Rock in 2007. Their charming restaurant occupies a Craftsman bungalow built in 1911 and serves modern soul food. To meet the moment, Larkin’s recently introduced a Sunday night “Poor Man’s Buffet”. “The items available will vary from week to week,” McBride says. Last Sunday, guests received all-you-can-eat fried chicken, catfish, smothered pork chops, mac ‘n cheese, greens, red beans & rice, mashed potatoes and house salad. The $12 buffer included beverage and desserts. A remarkable value. “It was great,” McBride says, “I think it will be a hit given the economic status.”
