Los Angeles German restaurant and beer garden, Wirtshaus, is launching its series of German beer and food pairing dinners on Tuesday, January 31, 2012. The pre-fixe dinner/menu will be offered from 6 PM – 10 PM. The dinner, priced at $40.00 per person, includes three (3) courses paired with a flight of five (5) German beers. (Please Note: Tax and tip are not included in this price.) The January 31 beer pairing dinner will feature rabbit stew as an appetizer, followed by Pork Wellington with mashed parsnips and garlic/parsley spaetzle. Dessert will be a pretzel bread pudding. (Guests who opt out of the beer pairing dinner menu/special will be able to order off of the regular dinner menu.)

Old Pasadena’s Dog Haus Biergarten is mixing it up with beer. On January 24th they will toast National Beer Can Day with $3.00 cans.

Officially launching on National Beer Can Day, January 24, 2012, Dog Haus Biergarten will transition from beer bottles to a diverse selection of canned beer. The can and craft beers range from old time American classics such as Pabst Blue Ribbon and Schlitz to more recent blends a la Dales Pale Ale by Oscar Blues Brewing Co. and Uncommon Brewers Baltic Porter among many others – and are available for an unbelievable $3.00 per can on National Beer Can Day. Completing the pack of new canned beer offerings at Dog Haus Biergarten are Caldera IPA, 21st Amendment Back in Black, Anderson Valley Barney Flatts, Golden Road Point the Way IPA, G’Knight by Oscar Blues, Joe’s Premium American Pilsner by Avery as well as Blackthorn Apple Cider. Beer is still also available on draft.
