The Bottle Room is holding down the craft beer front in Uptown Whittier.

The L.A. BEER BLAST is designed to let Food GPS readers know what’s new at select L.A. bars and restaurants with great beer selections. You’ll also discover beer-related events in the area and meet industry leaders. The L.A. BEER BLAST normally arrives every Thursday evening, in time for the weekend rush, except for this week, which is a precursor to Thanksgiving weekend. Brew & You columnist Sean Inman can suggest beers that will pair well with typical Holiday fare (and he does), and to take the logical step – beer inspired recipes – he points toward three people in a post titled Beer on the Thanksgiving Table.

BEACHWOOD BBQ

Beachwood chef-owner Gabe Gordon currently features draught beers like Bischofshof Hefe, Flying Dog Double Dog Nitro, Great Divide Yeti, Kern River Class V Stout, Firestone Double Jack, Karl Strauss Flanders, New Belgium Sahti, Lagunitas Brown Shugga, and on cask, Stone IPA with Simcoe hops. BLUE PALMS BREWHOUSE

Blue Palms proprietor Brian Lenzo is currently pouring beers like Oskar Blues TenFidy, a Russian Imperial Stout aged in Stranahan’s Colorado whiskey barrels; Oskar Blues Old Chub, a Scottish Ale; Oskar Blues Gordons, an American double IPA; Goose Island Matilda, a Belgian-style strong pale; Bourgogne des Flanders; and Bootlegger’s Knuckle Sandwich, an American double IPA. BONEYARD BISTRO

According to bar manager Rory Snipes “New beers on this week include: Allagash Interlude, Lagunitas Brown Shugga’, Eagle Rock Equinox Young Sour, Black Diamond Grand Cru (Dubbel with currants, black mission figs + vanilla bean, 20% bourbon aged for 1 year), Hangar 24 Pro-Am IPA, Bruery Orchard White, Great Divide Hades, Bootlegger’s Black Phoenix Coffee-Chipotle Stout, and Pliny The Elder.”

CONGREGATION ALE HOUSE

According to beverage director Eli Wilson, “Thanksgiving is a great time for us at Congregation to reflect on the good fortune and cheer we have experienced over the last few months since our opening.

We humbly invite you to join us on December 5th for our three month Anniversary Party, an event that we are honored to share with Firestone Brewery as they release their 14th Anniversary beer. Look for other goodies from Firestone as well, such as Double Jack, DBA on cask, Union Jack, and a very special tapping of 2009 Parabola. Further details to follow next week.

As for our current pre-Thanksgiving beer list, highlights include De Molen Hell & Damnation, Ayinger Celebrator, Schneider Aventinus, Karl Strauss Flandiddyanders Red, Alesmith Yulesmith Winter, Lagunitas Brown Shugga, and Haand Norwegian Wood. Happy Thanksgiving!”

Since last Thursday, Phil McGovern’s Santa Monica bar has added draught beers like Leffe Blonde, Lagunitas Brown Shugga, Speakeasy Big Daddy IPA, Firestone Walker Solace wheat, Russian River Pliny the Elder, Deschutes Inversion IPA, and on cask, Firestone Walker Union Jack IPA and unfiltered Double Barrel Ale.

THE GOLDEN STATE

According to The Golden State co-owner Jason Bernstein, they’re currently pouring Kern River Just Outstanding IPA, Old Rasputin Imperial Stout, Craftsman Monkey See Monkey Do, Craftsman 1903, Stone Double Bastard, Eagle Rock Populist IPA, Pot High Tides IPA, Old Blarney aged in Heaven Hill barrels (not on menu foodgps folks only), Great Divide Hibernation and Grand Teton Trout hop IPA.

LADYFACE ALE COMPANIE

According to Ladyface rep Robyn Britton, “Ladyface has 8, count ‘em eight, of its own beers on tap – La Blanche Wit, La Blonde, Ladyface IPA, Blind Ambition Amber, La Trappistine Dubbel, Trois Filles Tripel, Picture City Porter and our Cask of the Week, “Turkey Day Tripel” featuring apple cider and cinnamon spice infused Trois Fille Tripel. Rounding out the lineup are Black Diamond Grand Cru, Moylan’s Old Blarney and Moylander, North Coast Scrimshaw, Greenflash Hophead Red, St. Louis Gueuze, Val-Dieu Grand Cru, Petrus Oud Bruin and Popperings Hommel.

Ladyface is closed Thursday and opens ‘Black’ Friday at 3pm with the same Mall Recovery Specials. Happy Thanksgiving and don’t forget growlers for Granny’s!”

LIBRARY ALEHOUSE

According to General Manager Tom Kelley, a certified cicerone, “We have on tap Pliny the Elder, Stone Double Bastard, Bruery’s Humulus Session Ale, Dogfish Head’s Burton Baton, Firestone Velvet Merkin, Cismontane’s California Common called Citizen, Maui Brewing’s Big Swell IPA and plenty more.

Next week, Tuesday November 30th we will be pouring some limited release Ballast Point beers, for the Alliance for Children’s Rights. 15% of our daily sales will be donated as part of our monthly non-profit program. On tap will be Sculpin IPA, Dorado DIPA, 2009 Bourbon Barrel Aged Sea Monster and Sextant Oatmeal Stout (Nitro).”

LUCKY BALDWIN’S DELIRIUM CAFE

According to Helen, new beers at Lucky Baldwin’s eastern outpost since last Thursday include Cuvee Van de Keizer Blauw, 2010 Stone Imperial Russian Stout and New Belgium Skinny Dip, a summer seasonal.

NAJA’S PLACE

According to assistant manager Martin Svab, “Newer On tap…Dogfish 60 & 90 Min IPA, Burton Baton, Chicory Stout, Theobroma, Palo Santo. Other beer…Anderson Valley Winter Solstice, Oskar Blues Old Chub, Cosmic Ales Hell Hound Brown, & The Gentleman Scholar Requiem Espresso Stout.

We will be CLOSED on Thanksgiving.

Next week…Our Christmas Beer Fest kicks off on Wednesday, December 1st with 15+ Belgian & American Christmas beers. Fest starts at 2pm & runs as long as the beer is pouring. Limited amount of cool glasses will be available throughout the festival.

On Thursday, Dec. 2 we are hosting Strand Brewing’s launch of Atticus IPA from 7pm till 10pm. Limited amount of pint glasses will be available.”

THE OINKSTER

According to assistant manager Josh Salinas, who runs the beer program at The Oinkster, “This weekend we have a few kegs left of the Great Divide Hades which is a badass Belgain gold.We also have Grand Teton’s Sweet Grass APA which won GABF Gold in 09. Also running are Eel River Organic IPA and Scrimshaw Pilsner.

This weekend we will start carrying a couple winter beers that I really enjoy, Which are Firestone Velvet Merlin Oatmeal Stout and Anchor Christmas Ale ’10 in 12oz bottles.”

SIMMZY’S

According to manager Peter Shuey, “We’ve got Stone Double Bastard & Lucky Bastard, Widmer Brrrbon, Deschutes Hop Trip, Great Divide Oak Aged Yeti and coming up we’ve got Ballast Pt Black Marlin, Shipyard Imperial Porter, Dogfish Chicory Stout, Sierra 30th annv Reserve, Deschutes Jubelale & Oskar Blue’s Gordon.

Don’t forget Dec 2nd is our Firestone party with 14th annv, Double Jack and Velvet Merlin & Dec 6th we’ll have Strand Brewing in house with their brand new IPA, “Atticus.” Both events start at 6:30pm.”

THE SURLY GOAT

Earlier today, Andrew Kelley provided “some highlights of what is on draft now as well as what is coming up soon.” On tap, you’ll find beers like Affligem Noel (Belgian Christmas Ale), Avery DuganA (Double IPA) and Sierra Nevada Celebration (IPA) [on Cask]. On deck, the Goat’s got kegs of Green Flash West Coast IPA, Allagash Interlude (Sour Brown Ale) and Russian River IPA.

TONY’S DARTS AWAY

According to yesterday’s update from general manager Paige Reilly, “We have an AMAZING line-up of Firestone beers for y’all to enjoy for FW’s 14th Anniversary: Oaktoberfest, Union Jack, Unfiltered Double Barrel on CASK, Double Jack and, of course, 14TH ANNIVERSARY ALE! Come and enjoy your pre-turkey day booze!”
