Beachwood chef-owner Gabe Gordon currently features draught beers such as Alesmith’s My Bloody Valentine, Sierra Nevada Big Foot, Big Sky Cowboy Coffee Porter, Drake’s Hop Salad and Dogfish Head Chicory Stout. Track changes to Beachwood BBQ’s 24-tap menu via Hop Cam.
Blue Palms taps are pouring Speakeasy Payback Porter, Duchesse De Bourgogne, Drake’s Grain Brain Barleywine, Pliny the Elder from Russian River and Firestone-Walker Robust Porter on cask. Since last Thursday, Phil McGovern’s iconic Santa Monica bar has added Avery Dugana IPA, Lagunitas Hairy Eyeball and Rogue Hazelnut brown.

The Factory
According to Eric Gutenkauf, “The Factory Gastrobar had a fantastic beer week highlighted by our Pints for Pitbulls event co-sponsored by Bootleggers Brewery. More than $2300 were raised for the Orange County Pit Bull Rescue Association. A 5-gallon Bootleggers Spring Ale keg lasted only 38 minutes, and raised $550 for the dogs!
Right now on tap, we have Bootleggers Old World Hefeweizen and Dr. Tongue Imperial Brown Ale, Nibble Bit Tabby’s Irish Red Ale, Very Noddy from Reno’s Buckbean Brewing, Karl Strauss 22nd Anniversary Vanilla Bean Imperial Stout, Deschutes Hop Henge and our competitors in The Factory IPA Tournament, Sudwerk IPA and Drake’s Gold Medal IPA.
Waiting in the wings we have Strand Pale Ale and Port Brewing’s Mongo IPA, and next Thursday Nick and Brian from Brouwerig West will be on hand to tap their 5 Blonde Ale and their new Tripel! We are also plotting the addition of some awesome Eagle Rock brews to our draft lineup next week! Last but not least, watch next week’s Beer Blast for final word on the arrival of Bootleggers legendary Knuckle Sandwich! We have tentatively scheduled a 5PM tapping on Saturday, March 5.”
According to James Starr at The Golden State, draught beers include Craftsman Brewing’s 1903, Honesty and Aurora Borealis. Drake’s 1500 Pale Ale and Denoggnizer. Moylan’s Hopsickle, Port Brewing Mongo, Bruery Mischief, Great Divide’s Grand Cru and Allagash Curieux round out the list.
According to Ladyface rep Robyn Britton, “Six regular Ladyface ales are on tap, along with Russian Lullaby Imperial Stout, 1st Anniversary Ale (Belgian Quad), Cabernet Barrel-aged Weizenbock and Oude Blonde (Chardonnay barrel-aged La Blonde). Chesebro IPA should return Sunday evening.
Joining them are Drake’s Denogginizer, Avery Dugana Imperial IPA, St. Feuillien Noel, Firestone Velvet Merkin Great Divide Old Ruffian, and Cyrena and Dave’s Sierra Nevada Beer Camp beer, Outta Town Brown. The Cask of the Week is “Blast From The Past”, our Oktoberfest Weizenbock aged in a Cabernet barrel. According to assistant manager Martin Svab, “New brews: TAPS Cream Ale, Victory Storm King Imperial Stout, Sierra Nevada Bigfoot 2011 & 2008, Sierra Nevada Blonde and Sierra Nevada Glissade.
As for events: tonight is the RUSSIAN RIVER BREWING showdown, I mean “event”. The important note: TICKETS for Pliny the Younger go on sale at 6:30pm at the bar. All Russian River beers will start pouring at 6:30pm EXCEPT for Younger… That bad boy goes live at 8:00pm. There will be ONLY 150 tickets available for Younger. One per/person. $8/(10 ounce pour). CASH only, please. Cheers.”
According to Tuesday night’s update from assistant manager Josh Salinas, “This weekend we are pouring Anderson Valley Hop ‘Ottin IPA, with Cismontane Coulter IPA on deck. Here is the update from Jace Milstead, a certified cicerone who’s consulting on the beer list, “We’re putting on some good stuff and invite folks to join us. Happy hour Till 8pm, with $4 draft. We’ve got an amazing, pretty rare imperial pilsner from Grand Teton. It’s called Persephone and has the nice crispness of a pilsner with a healthy dose of hops on a nearly 9% body. Plus, we’re tapping Speakeasy Ritual Coffee Porter, have new bottles of Odonata Saison, and of course hugs, handshakes, and balloons for the kids.”
According to manager Micah Schiesel, “For the hop heads out there we got Avery DuganA’s IPA, Port Brewing Mongo IPA, Pliny the Elder, Leafer Madness Double IPA, and that is just the tip of the iceberg for our IPA’s. We got two special kegs from Stone, Highway 78 collaboration, its a Scotch Ale brewed by Stone, Green Flash, and Port Brewing, and we also got the “Belgo” Old Guardian. For those looking to kill 2 birds with 1 stone we got Cismontane’s Black Dawn, a brown sugar, oatmeal, and coffee stout, drink your breakfast and get buzzed too.
