I know that guides typically span entire metro areas, but an L.A. sandwich guide in our things-between-bread golden age would be overwhelming. I enjoy hundreds of sandwiches in Los Angeles County. Cities like Glendale have more than enough to give on their own. After all, Glendale houses nearly 200,000 people and covers 30.5 square miles. Yes, I know that Glendale, Arizona, exists and is even bigger, but do they have our Glendale’s culinary diversity and scenic splendor? Not in my view. Verdugo Mountains vs. Thunderbird Conservation Park? California vs. Arizona sandwiches? No contest.
Glendale, California is clearly on the rise. Have you seen the Pixar movie Turning Red? Animated boy band 4☆Town gives Glendale a big shoutout. What about the TV show Hacks? Lead character Ava Daniels lives at The Americana at Brand. When she doesn’t eat at restaurants like The Cheesecake Factory, Ava might appreciate these picks. So could Mrs. Table. I’m sure more flavorful Glendale sandwiches will come to mind – or I’ve yet to experience them – but this is a good start.
