As part of the first stage in a massive $1 billion investment to revamp Westfield Century City mall, developers incorporated new outposts of popular restaurant brands. Highlights include Shake Shack, Tender Greens, and the third Wexler’s Deli. The nouveau retro Jewish deli from chef Micah Wexler and Mike Kassar added a couple site-specific wrinkles to their menu. Wexler’s now serves a New York-style chopped beef sandwich, plus standard deli classics.
To drink, your best bet is Wexler’s chocolate egg cream ($3). This simple beverage involves an egregious misnomer since there’s no egg or cream. They mix milk with chocolate syrup and finish with seltzer, creating a frothy chocolate bubble crown. This drink remind me of blowing bubbles into my chocolate milk as a kid. It also tasted great.
