The song served as a positive mantra to listeners during the Summer of Love. Nearly 50 years later, this song inspired Jeff Bagby and his Bagby Beer team to brew an American extra pale ale by the same name in Oceanside, under dire circumstances.

Sadly, June’s mass shooting at Orlando’s Pulse nightclub was the inciting incident for this craft beer. Hillcrest Brewing collaborated with Karl Strauss Brewing Company to benefit the 49 victims. The initiative inspired 17 other San Diego Brewers Guild members to produce All You Need is Love interpretations. Bagby’s crisp, golden APA clocks 4.8% ABV. I recently enjoyed a pint of Bagby Beer All You Need is Love at The Surly Goat in West Hollywood. I can confirm Love is still a summer hit with an enduring message of peace.
