Bakery Logo Taipei

In the U.S., 4-H is a youth development organization that has four tenets: head, heart, hands, and health. 4H House has a far different mission in Taipei, as I found out during my visit to the National Taiwan College of the Performing Arts to observe a Guo Guang Opera Company practice. Guo Guang President Mark Jung and his staff shared several varieties of baked goods from the 4H House near the College in Taipei’s Mu Cha district.

Cookies Taipei
4H bakes good, firm cookies, including savory salted oregano, pepper, and chocolate chip.

Cake Taipei
I also enjoyed fluffy, sugar dusted angel food cake featuring sweetened condensed milk.

Pineapple Cake Taipei
Foil wrapped pineapple cakes utilize green tea, chunky walnuts and tart dried cranberries.

4H House may not benefit any of the aforementioned H-words, but at least the bakery’s pastries inspired one new H designation: High-Quality.
