This week in Brew & You: the beer events just won’t stop and neither will beers from Utah, as well as another craft beer homework assignment to complete in a post titled IPAs, Sessions and Belgians.

The Bruery Night Benefiting TOTNLA

On May 3, Steingarten LA is extremely excited to welcome “The Bruery” for a total tap tower takeover and five course beer pairing dinner to benefit Taste of the Nation (a non- profit working to end childhood hunger by 2015). They’re serving five unique beers paired with five unique food dishes. Brewery reps, including founder Patrick Rue, will be on hand to speak about the beers. $10 of sale of each ticket will be donated to Share our Strength. The dinner starts at 7 p.m. and Tickets are $49 (tax and tip included). Tickets are available for purchase. Seating is strictly limited to 50 guests and are selling out fast so please buy your tickets ASAP. They’ll also feature several beers not paired on the dinner, including Loakal Red, Humulus Lager, Saison de Lente 2011, Mischief and an ultra rare keg of Salt of the Earth, a traditional German unfiltered wheat beer with ground coriander and salt. $1 from every beer sold at the bar goes to the charity as well.”

Echo Park bar owner Elizabeth Fischbach says, “This week I’ve got a new beer, Iron Fist The Gauntlet Double IPA, also serving Stone Cali-Belgique, Port Brewing Hot Rocks, and North Coast Red Seal.”

Beachwood BBQ

Beachwood chef-owner Gabe Gordon currently features draught beers such as Cosmic Ales Hell Hound brown, Bavic Pils, Sam Adams Rustic Saison, Alesmith Wee Heavy and Tustin Brewing’s Blimp Hangar porter. Track changes to Beachwood BBQ’s 24-tap menu via Hop Cam.

Blue Palms Brewhouse

Blue Palms taps are pouring Hangar 24 Orange Wheat, TAPS cream ale, Lagunitas Old Gnarleywine and Coronado Islander IPA among many others. Track changes to Blue Palms Brewhouse’s 24-tap menu Here

On Friday, April 29, Coronado Brewing Co. will invade Blue Palms from 6-9 p.m. with Mermaid’s Red, Islander IPA, Idiot IPA, Orange Avenue Wit, Point Loma Porter, Red Devil, Hoppy Daze Black IPA, Black Perle Schwarzbier and a cask of Idiot IPA with Hatch Chilis and oak chips. You can also meet the brewery crew.

Boneyard Bistro

From bar manager Rory Snipes, “New beers this week include Kern River Just Outstanding IPA, Eagle Rock Populist IPA, Anderson Valley Imperial Boont Amber, and Bruery Humulus Lager. And don”t forget our beer dinner this Sunday with Bootlegger’s! Tropical Tempura Shrimp with Ginger dipping sauce and Asian Pickled Vegetables paired with Old World Hefe, Black Phoenix Braised Oxtail Tacos with charred Tomato-Chipotle Salsa paired with Black Phoenix, Smoked St. Louis Spareribs with Anniversary Ale BBQ Sauce and Smoked Salt Potato Chips paired with 78 Anniversary, Pineapple Upside Down Cake with Chamomile infused Herb Honey paired with Spring Ale. According to chef-owner Tony Alcazar, “This week we will be pouring RRBC Blind Pig and Pliny the Elder, Cismontane Blacks Dawns on Nitro, Firestone Walker’s Reserve Porter, The Bruery Marron Acicifie, and Liefmans Fuitesse.

This Saturday we will celebrate Bootleggers 3rd Anniversary with a keg of their 78 Anniversary Ale, a keg of Dr.Tongue and a couple of new items from the kitchen including the Lobster “Knuckle Sandwich.” Beers updated daily.

Covell

On tap are Stone Cali-Belgique, Great Divide Chocolate Yeti, Cismontane saison, Black Market Rye IPA, Hitachino Nest Witbier, Buckbean Black Noddy, Iron Fist Dubbel Fisted and Stiegl Pils.

The Daily Pint

Since last Thursday, Phil McGovern’s iconic Santa Monica bar has added Rogue Imperial Stout and Stone Smoked Porter with vanilla bean to their beer list.

Eagle Rock Brewery

On tap beer wise are Solidarity and it’s nitro version, Manifesto and Revolution along with four guest taps.

On the food truck front, on Thursday it will be Ahn Joo LA, Friday has Grindhaus and Saturday is Rebel Bite.

The Golden State

At The Golden State, draught beers include “Craftsman 1903, Port Hot Rocks lager, Ballast Point Sculpin, Gnomegang, Black Market brown and Iron Fist’s The Gauntlet.”

Ladyface Ale Companie

According to Ladyface rep Robyn Britton, “Ten Ladyface ales are currently on tap, along with Avery Maharaja Imperial IPA, Ballast Point Yellowtail Pale Ale, St. Louis Gueuze, Taps Barleywine, Saison Dupont, and Sierra Nevada Outta Town Brown. Cask of the Week is “Sometimes You Feel Like A Nut” featuring hazelnut-infused Blind Ambition. The firkin is tapped every Wednesday.

Hope to see some of you home-brewers at the CHA Festival this weekend at Lake Casitas. Ladyface Ale Companie is proud to be one of the four breweries invited to pour at Friday’s Pro-Brewer’s Night.”

Library Alehouse

According to GM Tom Kelley, “This weekend, we’ll be right in the heart of Belgian Beer Fest! We’ve still got lots of goodies to throw on tap, including Rodenbach Grand Cru, Rodenbach Vintage 2008, Red Poppy, Supplication, Dupont Foret, Dupont Avril and a ton more! This Thursday April 28th is Kwak Keep the Glass Night and we’re having an event with 12% Importers on May 2nd, featuring three different beers from Stillwater!

We’ve also got some great events coming up! The 3rd Annual Belgian Beer Dinner is on Wednesday May 4th!
