Craft Beer Event Los Angeles

Eagle Rock Sip + Savor is a particularly progressive beer pairing.

It is less than a month until the 2017 edition of L.A. Beer Week and events are already percolating. The first event to catch my interest is the inaugural Eagle Walk: Sip & Savor progressive dining event on Wednesday, June 21.

Eagle Rock Brewery has recruited restaurants and breweries for a stroll along Colorado Boulevard in Eagle Rock with beers from ERB (of course), El Segundo Brewing Co., Mumford Brewing, Craftsman Brewing and Highland Park Brewery.

Each course of the meal happens at a different restaurant on the one-mile stretch of road. Food pairing starts at Milkfarm LA< and will continue to the The Oinkster, Red Herring and Eagle Rock Brewery Public House before the street bends toward Figueroa at Little Beast.

According to organizer Ting Su, “Participating brewers and restaurateurs will be on hand to discuss their beer and food pairings, so guests can rub elbows with some local brewery, shop/restaurant owners, learn about their products and businesses, and discover why food and beer pair so well together.” Not to mention that you will also be able to get a little exercise!

Eagle Walk: Sip & Savor tickets are $47 and include stops at five restaurants with a beer and food tasting at each one. You can purchase tickets HERE.

The BEER OF THE WEEK is Level 2 of the Beer Bros. series from El Segundo Brewing Co.. This time they teamed up with the coming Green Cheek Beer Co. from Orange County. You may know their head brewer, Evan Price, formerly of Noble Ale Works. Six hops were used: El Dorado and Chinook in the kettle and Simcoe, Mosaic, Bitter Gold and Nelson Sauvin for the dry hop. No luck needed to make Beginner’s Luck, this new double IPA.

Your HOMEWORK is to ponder art while also sipping a craft beer. Strand Brewing Co. is starting a new series called Third Fridays to celebrate local art and artists. Tomorrow night at their Torrance brewery and taproom you can view the art of Sam Harang and Max Becker while sipping on brewer Joel Elliott’s Atticus IPA or Beach House Red.
