Beachwood chef-owner Gabe Gordon currently features draught beers like Port Mongo double IPA, Mad River Scotch Porter, Bear Republic Pete’s Tribute Brown Ale, Lagunitas Lucky 13, Eel River Amber, Drake’s Bass Ackwards IPA and Port Summer Pale Ale. BLUE PALMS BREWHOUSE

The Blue Palms Brewhouse line-up currently includes options like Triple Rock IPAX, Port Brewing Hot Rocks, Mikkeller Tomahawk single hop IPA, Lost Abbey Lost & Found, Drake’s Denogginizer, Lost Abbey Red Barn, Green Flash Matt’s Bitter and Lost Abbey Serpent Stout.

Proprietor Brian Lenzo is gearing up for his 2nd Anniversary Celebration on August 14, featuring 30+ specialty beers, a (200 pound!) pig roast, dunk tank, cigar lounge and more for $40, including 10 taster tickets. Or you can pre-purchase and score two extra tasting tickets and a three-hour head-start on the general public.

BONEYARD BISTRO

According to bar manager Rory Snipes, “We just added two fantastic Belgians to our bottle list: DeDolle Oerbier and DeDolle Dulle Teve, two of my absolute favorite beers. New on draft this week we have Kern River Just Outstanding IPA, St. Bernardus ABT 12, Avery Maharaja Imperial IPA, Corsendonk Abbey Brown, Spaten Premium Bock, Lost Abbey Red Barn Ale, and Kasteel Rouge, every one of them absolutely delicious, cheers!”

THE BOTTLE ROOM

According to The Bottle Room chef-owner Tony Alcazar, “This week we are pouring Stone Cali-Belgique, Avery Maharaja, Craftsman Orange Grove Ale and Biere de Blanco, Port Brewing Mongo IPa and Road to Helles, St. Bernardus Tripel and last but not least RRBC Consecration among 16 others on tap. Also, I am working together with the guys at Port Brewing Co. to finalize the Beers as well as the Food menu for our 2nd Annual Summer beer dinner with Port Brewing/Lost Abbey. 5 Courses 5 Beers, $55/per person.”

THE DAILY PINT

Phil McGovern’s Santa Monica bar currently features Meantime Scotch Ale, Leffe Blonde, Stone 14th Anniversary, Port Mongo Double IPA, Russian River Damnation, Lost Abbey Witch’s Wit, New Belgium Ranger IPA and Ballast Point Yellowtail Pale Ale, and on cask, Stone IPA with Amarillo hops and Stone Arrogant Bastard with Chinook hops.

THE FIFTH AMENDMENT ALEHOUSE

According to co-owner Eden Noe, new beers include “Affligem Blond, Goose Island Matilda, Port 4th Anniversary, Delirium Tremens, Sierra Summerfest, Stella, Firestone Hemp Ale, Speedway Stout, 5th Amendment Hefeweizen.”

THE GOLDEN STATE

According to yesterday’s update from co-owner Jason Bernstein, “Here are the beers on tap: Craftsman 1903, Port Road to Helles, New Belgium Belgo, Drake’s Denogginizer, Drake’s Hopocalypse, Oscar Blues Gubna, North Coast Old Rasputin, Port Older Viscosity, Firestone Union Jack, New Belgium Fall Wild Ale, Bootleggers Knuckle Sandwich.”

LADYFACE ALE COMPANIE

According to Ladyface rep Robyn Britton, “Hop Fest at Ladyface! We’ve got your Ladyface favorites including the return of Chesebro IPA plus, starting Friday, Bear Republic Racer 5, Port Hop 15, Avery Maharajah, Bootlegger’s Knuckle Sandwich, Grand Tetons Lost Continent, Stone Cali-Belgique, Drakes 1500, La Chouffe Houblon, Anderson Valley Imperial IPA, Speakeasy Betrayal, and Alesmith XPA. Then, as those kegs blow, it’s on to hoppy favorites from Drakes, Oskar Blues, Speakeasy and Russian River.

And there’s a new ale debuting Monday night – Ladyface Red Rye. This single-hopped red ale, with 20% flaked rye, is malty-sweet with a distinctive astringency from the rye, medium hop flavor and a strong hop finish. 7.2%ABV. National Smile Week also starts on Monday, so don’t worry, be hoppy. Finally, the Cask of the Week is “Summer Blonde” – Centennial hops and orange peels give a distinctive yet subtle citrus edge to our popular, thirst-quenching La Blonde ale.”

LIBRARY ALEHOUSE

On August 4, Library Alehouse general manager Tom Kelley hosts a special beer-pairing dinner with Allagash Brewing owner Rob Tod and former Joe’s chef de cuisine Joshua Gil, who now cooks as part of the Supper Liberation Front. The five-course dinner costs $60 per person, plus tax and tip, including Lil bites

According to staffer Jamie, new beers at Lucky Baldwin’s eastern outpost include Dogfish Head Festina Peche, Firestone Private Label IPA, Gordon’s Ten Fidy Imperial Stout and Port Brewing Old Viscosity.

NAJA’S PLACE

Tonight from 8 PM – 10 PM, Naja’s Place will feature Lagunitas Brewing Co., pouring Lagunitas IPA, Pils, Undercover Investigation Shutdown, Olde Gnarly Wine, and Lucky 13.

SIMMZY’S

According to manager Pete Shuey, “This week at Simmzy’s we’ve got a cameo of the Stone Cali-belgique IPA. Port Brewing’s Summer Pale is also in followed up by Port “Older” Viscosity. The Bruery’s Mischief is still going strong as well. Avery IPA, Craftsman Biere de Blanco and Victory Prima Pils round out our new arrivals for the week!”

THE SURLY GOAT

According to co-owner Ryan Sweeney, you’ll currently find Port Mongo, Russian River Damnation, Kern River Just Outstanding IPA, Lost Abbey Road to Helles, Ommegang Zeur and John John Dead Guy and Mikkeller Cat Cream Ale on tap. A keg of Russian River Supplication is going live tonight at The Surly Goat. On deck: Rogue John John Juniper IPA, New Belgium Belgo, Deschutes Hop in the Dark, Eagle Rock Limbo and Russian River Supplication.

On Wednesday, August 4, The Surly Goat is hosting Beer For Books founder John Wood and Lost Abbey brewmaster Tomme Arthur. From 6:30 – 10 PM, $1 from the sale of every beer goes to buys books for people in developing countries.

TONY’S DARTS AWAY

According to Tony Yanow – the Tony in Tony’s Darts Away – “Currently we have 38 California beers on tap including some big IPA’s like Green Flash Palate Wrecker, Ballast Point Sculpin, Russian River Pliny The Elder, Alesmith Summer Yulesmith, Mission Shipwrecked, and Bootleggers Knuckle Sandwich. We also have some Non IPA’s like Hangar 24 2nd Anniversary Ale, TAPS Cream Ale, Bruery Humulus Lager, Lost Abbey Witch’s Wit, Eel River Triple Exultation, and Ballast Point Calico Amber on Cask!”

Also Tony’s Darts Away has introduced Tuesdays at Tony’s, with a different beer experience every Tuesday night. The 1st Tuesday of each month is a “Wildcard.” The 2nd Tuesday is “Flight Night.” 3rd Tuesday is “Beer Education Night.” 4th Tuesday is “Brewery Night.” Finally, “On the freak occurrence of a 5th Tuesday, all bets are off!”

VENDOME TOLUCA LAKE

Beer & Spirits Specialist Mike Hayhurst has assembled nine different single-hop beers from Mikkeller for Saturday afternoon’s tasting. From 2 PM -5 PM, staffers will be pouring 15 tasters for $10, including Nelson Sauvin Single Hop IPA, Nugget Single Hop IPA, East Kent Golding Sing Hop IPA, Centennial Single Hop IPA, Warrior Single Hop IPA, Chinook Single Hop IPA, Cascade Single Hop IPA and Simcoe Single Hop IPA, plus 10 IPA, brewed with all 10 hops in the nomadic brewery’s series. You’ll also find I Beat You and Stateside IPA, two more IPAs, plus Beer Geek Brunch Weasel, an imperial stout brewed with the always controversial kopi luwak.

VERDUGO BAR

According to co-owner Ryan Sweeney, you’ll currently find Jolly Pumpkin Bam Bière, Seven Grain Saison, Eagle Rock Limbo – their new Citra hopped Saison – Meantime Scotch Ale, Dogfish Head Sah’tea and New Belgium Belgo on tap. On deck: Port Road to Helles, Port Older Viscosity and Rogue John John Juniper Ale, brewed with juniper tips and aged in gin barrels.
