Cheers & Beers, German Bursted + Blame Millenials?

Craft Beer Los Angeles

The Los Angeles Galaxy have a new coach and on September 2 you can cheer on Sigi Schmid and his players as they take on the Colorado Rapids in their push towards the MLS playoffs. Before the night game you can cheer on your local breweries at a fundraiser (for our L.A. County Brewers Guild) that will take place before they kick the first ball.

You can order up a General Admission package which starts at $50 and includes the #Independent festival entry with unlimited tastings, a limited edition Galaxy & LABG scarf, and your seat for the Galaxy match. Midfield Reserve and Preferred Sideline packages are also available.

Those General Admission seats will put you next to other craft beer fans and maybe even a brewer! You could both yell at the referees for bad calls, or talk about hazy NE IPAs.

Speaking of brewers, 20 will be on-hand pouring ranging from all corners of the Los Angeles beer scene which makes this a great chance to sample beer without putting miles on your car.

The first L.A. Brewers Cheers & Beers festival takes place on Saturday, September 2. Beer flows starting at 3:30 and the game will kick-off at 8 p.m. under the stars at the Galaxy’s home field: StubHub Center.

The BEER(s) OF THE WEEK is the latest triumvirate from the El Segundo Brewing‘s Bursted Series. Three single hop IPAs, this time, have a Germanic tilt to them. The hops used in this go ‘around are Huell Melon, Mandarina Bavaria and Saphir. Buy one of each and see which hop is your favorite.

Your HOMEWORK is to not blame the Millenial generation for everything. No they may not be drinking local and independent beer at the same voracious clip as previous generations but it seems any decline (or increase), in any industry, is due to them from slumping home sales or not eating at “fast casual” restaurants. Instead, if you know or meet one of the dreaded younger people not drinking as much beer people in the wild. Discuss what you like about beer with them, stay open minded and have a discussion.
